Worm Drive Circular Saws - Circular saws using a worm-drive provide for greater torque (circular power) than direct drive saws. They are heavier in the hand and more expensive, but are the tool of choice for the construction industry. Because the motor is not mounted on the side of the blade, a worm drive saw can be used safely by both left-handed and right-handed people. Glossary: Worm Drive
