Recieved as a gift.. I've been very pleased with this router.. The only problem is with the depth guide... I had trouble raising and lowering it precisely... it's a little tricky.. other than that it has been great...

I received the Skil 1810 (1 3/4 HP) as a gift, then bought the 1815 one to go with it. It came with both a fixed- and a plunge base, and the bases are interchangeable, which is really noce.
The 1815 is mounted in my router table, and works well. This makes the light feature sort of pointless of course.

- The 1/2" collet is pretty good. Changing bits is pretty straightforward, you slide a metal bracket to hold the collet and then loosen it with a wrench.
- This router has plenty of power for normal woodworking. It had no problem routing edges on strips of poplar, making stopped mortises in oak or cutting rabbets into hardwood plywood.
- The router has a depth stop feature which works OK, but not great. As always, make a test cut in some scrap before routing your expensive piece of wood.

I bought this one on sale for ~$75. This is a solid router for the money.
