For a space constrained do it yourselfer like me this has turned out to be an excellant purchase. I paid $500 for a good used Mark 5 (made in 1991) and love it. The motor has plenty of power for what I am doing. Maybe for an improvement bump it up another 1/2 hp. The lathe centers are dead on and the disc sander is nice too. I wish the table for the sander and table for the table saw came (standard not paying for the upgrade $500) with extentions. The drill press feature is a hassle but doable considering it is my only drill press. If you have a project that requires multiple cuts I suggest that you set up once and run as many peices as possible because when I re-set up to run identicle parts I can be off 1/32"-1/64" v.s. a previous set up. Doesn't sound like a lot but it really matters during glue up!
