Good Power, Good Table
Wood Magazine, Volume 166, 2005-11

by Toolmark

The reviewer said this bandsaw has very good power. The saw can be pushed hard without slowing or stalling, and was able to make an 18-inch long cut in 10-inch wide red oak in 30 seconds without trouble. Another positive point is that the table is large and extends all the way up to the saw frame. This table also deflected less than the table on any other tested saw. The table tilts left by 15 degrees, which is 5 degrees more than any other tested saw. The fence is 4 inches tall, which although is short for resawing 11 3/4" material, was still the highest in the tests, therefore provides the best workpiece support of any tested bandsaw. A minor low point is that the blade tension scale is marked 1-10 as on the Grizzly bandsaws, rather than by inches, which makes is unintuitive. Another low point is that the lower wheel's cover hinge creates a tight spot for wide blades, which hinders blade changes since wide blades are not as flexible as narrow blades. Caveat: This bandsaw requires 220-volt service, which is not always readily available in shops.
