The reviewer summarized this jointer as being quite good
but that all its features can be found in other jointers at a lower price.
For example, for users who plan to joint figured wood only infrequently,
Shop Fox model W1684 with its straight-knife cutterhead is $400 lower in price.
This jointer uses a square-insert cutterhead, as does the Grizzly G0593.
This type of cutterhead has the same advantages and disadvantages,
regardless of which jointer uses it.
The advantages are durable carbide cutters, little tear-out in figured wood, and a quiet cut,
and the disadvantages are ridges, slow cut, and more feed pressure required.
Some high points of this jointer are the handwheels for adjusting the table height,
the magnetic power switch being placed on an elevated column for easy access, and the plastic guide
at the bottom of the heavy fence to protect the table from scraping damage.
