This machine is, according to Fine Wooworking, a twin of the General 90-100, another welded steel bandsaw. Like its twin, the Shop Fox easily reaches 15,000 psi of blade tension (it doesn't have a built-in tension gauge). It has a very high resaw capacity and cut well except that the machine required a slower feed rate when resawing. Its fence has limited blade-drift adjustment and the guide bar deflected easily when pushed front to back, causing the blade to twist. The machine has a couple of useful design features such as its conveniently placed tension knob and thumbscrew on the guide-block screws, making it a little nicer to work with this machine.
