Reviews

grade A

Rated Top Value, But Deep Snipe
Wood Magazine, Volume 173, 2006-11

by Toolmark

The reviewer tied this planer with the Ridgid TP1300LS for Top Value. Although this model has a minimum of features, its cut quality is as good as planers costing $150-$180 more. The dust hood can either eject chips from the rear of the planer or channel them through its 2 1/2-inch port. On the negative side, no tables are available with this planer, which means there is deep snipe with no possibility of ameliorating the situation. In summary, for this $200 planer delivers very good cut quality at the cost of requiring the user to regularly cut off sniped ends.
