Overall, Consumer Reports testers ranked this as the best portable table saw. The speed, ease of use, and rip precision are excellent, and the accuracy and edge finish are very good. The saw comes with a cut-line indicator (which lies in front of the cutting blade for ease of alignment) and extensions. Rip-fence adjustment is easy and allows for fine adjustments.

Fast & Portable, But Subpar Cuts

The reviewer said the portable Ridgid TS2400 cuts faster than most of the stationary saws, but that the contractor-style saws were generally better. Only if floor space and mobility are important would this saw be preferable over the contractor-style saws. The main problem with this saw was its cut quality was below average. There were many high points, however. It was the second fastest saw tested, the base is wheeled and collapses for mobility, and it is ready to run almost immediately after being unpacked. Also, there is on-tool storage for the fence, miter gauge, wrenches, and additional blades. Another plus is the low fence deflection, which is due to the fence locking at both front and rear. Two low points mentioned are that noticeable scoring on cuts results from excessive play in the arbor assembly, and the magnifier on the scale can be difficult to read at times, due to distortion it causes.
