Great Performance, Though on the Expensive Side
Wood Magazine, Volume 149, 2003-06

by Toolmark

The reviewer rated this jointer 5/5 on performance, and 3/5 on value. This 66-inch-long bed is the longest of any 6-inch jointer on the market, and this bed length allows boards up to about 11 feet long to be straightened. The 1-hp motor will slow when making an unusually deep cut, but didn't stall on the tests. The cutting depth adjustments are set by the same lever: lever shifts cause coarse adjustments, level handle twists cause fine adjustments. The fence is remarkably flat (within .004 inches from end to end), rigid, and has a center trunnion. The three tilt stops (at 45 degrees, 90 degrees, and 135 degrees) are accurate and repeatable.

FWW's Favorite 6-in. Jointer
Fine Woodworking Magazine, Volume 160, 2003-01

by Researchgirl

If price was not an object, says Fine Woodworking, this would definitely be the jointer they would want in their shop. First off, this jointer is 66 5/8 inches, a full twenty inches longer than most jointers in its class. It is also heavy, at 304 pounds, making it stable. It has an efficient fence design of a cast-iron fence with dual pivot points. FWW loved its table-adjustment mechanisms-- its levers are unique in that they can make both coarse and fine adjustments by pushing or twisting the lever.

5 out of 5 What a Jointer! (2008-01-08)

This machine is awesome! It was easy to assemble and most settings were dead on from the factory. It has significant mass and the long bed make edge jointing long boards a breeze. No more cutting... (More)
