WHAT'S THIS?

FWW's Best Overall 10" Cabinet Saw
Fine Woodworking Magazine, Volume 184, 2006-05

Along with the SawStop 31320, FWW chose this 10" cabinet saw out of a group of thirteen tested as its favorite overall. It has a great blade guard and includes a riving knife. It has a convenient and safe switch that can be reached with your knee. It has the second largest tabletop of the thirteen in the group, and its extension table and legs are included. It has a good insert and is the only machine in the bunch with retractable casters in the base, making it surprisingly easy to roll around such a large machine.

Powermatic Is Still The Big Daddy (2007-07-23)

When it comes to building big solid tools, Powermatic knows how to do it. We were not surprised to find that it was the Best Overall in the May/June 2006 Fine Woodworking (#184) review. They loved the inclusion of a riving knife (for safety), a large, easy to reach switch and integrated casters. It's a solid performer that will deliver superb cuts for many years.
