Convenient Dual-position Switch, But Expensive

The reviewer was impressed by the two alternative power switches, one on the fixed base in reach of the handle area, and one at the top for convenience when the router is used in a table. There is also a safety lock when the spindle lock is engaged that prevents accidental startup while the bits are being changed. There are several other high points: ties with Bosch/Craftsman allow for easy base changes, the fixed base adjusts for either large depth changes or for microadjustments, two clear subbases allow for good visibility of the bit, and when used in a router table an included extension knob allows depth adjustments to be made and allows the cutting depth to be locked from above the table. Some low points of the router are that it is difficult to change bits when using the dust shroud or guide-bushing subbase (both accessories), it is the most costly kit tested, dust collection accessories are optional, and the optional through-the-handle system for the fixed base has a tendency to clog with chips.
