Weak Ergonomics, Though the Six-step Turret Is Useful

The reviewer said this router handles cuts easily when cutting 1/4" deep dadoes in oak-veneer plywood with a 1/2" straight bit a 12 feet per minute, which the other tested routers also handled equally well, but this model and some other models lacked electronic feedback, which meant this router takes longer to recover when the bit first enters the wood. The main high point is that the depth-stop turret has six steps, of which three are adjustable. There are several low points. Although the motor easily installs into both bases, to tighten the motor into the plunge base requires a hexhead wrench. In the fixed base, the power switch rotates as the depth setting changes, which makes the switch difficult to see, and requires the operator to remove one hand from the tool during viewing. Also, no dust collection is available for either base. Although this router kit has been around for many years, nowadays most router kits have bypassed this model with regard to better performance and more features.
