At only $1200, this lathe is the cheapest tested by FWW in their May/June 2007 issue. It also stood out as a great machine for its performance and design. Its stability is only fair but can be greatly improved by adding 200-250 lbs. of sand. It has very good torque and an excellent tool rest, described by the tester as "strong and reliable." FWW also liked the machine's design for outboard turning, which consisted of a beefy bolt-on outrigger to hold the tool rest.
