Fine Woodworking liked this machine from Jet because it was easy to use, well-made, and cut well. Out of the tested bandsaws, it was one of the easiest and convenient to change blades. The machine was almost as well made as FWW's favorite, the Delta. The wheels are perfectly aligned and although FWW would have liked to be able to adjust for more blade-drift, they liked the Jet's fence. The machine has small convenient features such as its micro-adjust system to move the sleeve, and a thumbscrew on the guide-block screws. It cut well and was second only to the Delta in having less of a tendency to bog down. It is notably beefy and has a 1-hp motor.

Great with One Major Caveat. (2008-03-11)
Overall I've been very happy with the bandsaw. It runs very smoothly and tracks well when properly adjusted. There is , however, one major flaw that I can't believe they haven't yet addressed. The square nut in the tensioning mechanism is only about 1/4" thick and a very sloppy fit on the threaded shaft. This nut is under a lot of pressure and as a result I've replaced several of the mechanisms duo to the nut gaulling the thread and jambing, not a fun job!! Most recently I had a nut made at a machine shop that is a proper fit and about an inch long. Now I have a real bandsaw. Jet, if you're reading this, it's a cheap fix to make your saw top notch. Please give it a try.

Still Working Strong (2008-06-01)
I have had the Jet bandsaw for over a year. I have used to resaw 2x4 pine boards to build a fence. It has done well to resaw hardwoods such a oak and birch. It has all the power needed to resaw a... (More)

Look Elsewhere, This Thing Is No Good (2008-06-01)
I bought this saw three years ago and have had nothing but problems since.
I also have a Jet tablesaw -- which I love -- that led to me purchasing this bandsaw.
