Similar to a Tormek But at a Lower Price

The reviewer summarized this sharpener by saying it is good for the average woodworker who does limited tool sharpening, but for heavy daily sharpening a Tormek would be better, despite a Tormek costing $100 more. On this Jet model the accessory sharpening jigs are interchangeable between brands of sharpeners as in a Tormet. This Jet model even has a few features a Tormet does not, such as an enclosed motor, a wider water tray, and a storage drawer. The motor is variable-speed, and the sharpener puts sharp edges on chisels and other tools. On the down side, the aluminum and plastic components such as knobs were not as well-made as on a Tormek, which has a reputation for having the best power sharpeners.
