4 out of 5 Low Cost and Bare-bones, But Trouble-free (2008-04-28)

The reviewer said the primary positive feature of this power planer is its low price, which is $50-$60 less expensive than comparable planers. This is a basic planer with very few features. It is limited to 1/32 inches of cutting depth, but at least it never bogs down. There is no dust collection or tilting full-length fence, and the owner's manual is limited. Supposedly this planer does chamfering and rabbeting but the manual does not tell how.

I looked at all the planers. I was going to buy a planer with AMPS being my first concern. With a 3.4 amp motor this planer did not fail once. I put this machine to work on rough cut white oak with... (More)
