Cheap and Efficient
Wood Magazine, Volume 153, 2003-12

by Berkeleywoodboy

Hitachi's power planer, while lacking in comfort and niceties like a dust collector and a tilting full-length fence, still carries the strength to quickly flatten rough boards. The manual states that the tool is capable of chamfering and rabbeting, yet does not carry instructions as to how to set it up to do so. However, for its cheap affordable price and its performance, this tool is still worth the cost.
