According to Fine Woodworking, this machine can adequately bore a mortiser up to 3/4 in. It operates at a high 3,600 rpm-- the high-speed motor often means greater friction, heat, and more frequent jamming of the chisel. The 110-volt motor is a plus if your shop is not wired for 220-volts. Bit changes and table movement were relatively easy.
