3 out of 5 Good Machine But Very Poor Parts Accability (2008-10-15)

I have had my 25-200 since May of 2008 and have had very good performance when it is running. However, it has needed repair 4 times and parts availability has been a real problem. It has taken from two weeks to now going on 5 weeks to get parts or even an answer from General International to get parts or a determanation on what they are going to do.

Very good lathe but VERY poor customer support.

4 out of 5 Excellent Product Overall (2008-05-10)

I bought this lathe some three months ago and I have used it everyday since it came into the woodshop. I love the variable speed feature on it, and I have not had any trouble whatsoever with it. This lathe has several features that normally come in larger models. I appreciate the off-bed turning possibility. The only downside may be the small toolrest (6") that comes with it. General International has some larger ones, but they do not match with this tool. Thus, either I buy another brand name for the toolrest, or else I have to head to a welding shop to have the small model enlarged. Yet, overall, this is a tool I would recommend to anyone who does not have room to have a huge lathe, yet who wants to have quality in a smaller model. Pat
