The reviewer of this Freud FT2000EPK router rated it as Top Value, tied with the Hitachi M12V router. This rating is based on the combination of the router's low price (under $200), good power, good cut quality, and a five-year warranty. The router is light in weight, and its speed controls are easily reachable whether the router is held by hand or used in a table. Some low points are that the depth-stop scale cannot be zeroed, and when the magnified cursor is viewed at an angle it is difficult to read. There is no coarse adjustment but there is a large fine-adjustment knob to make the adjustment task easier. For $400 this router is available in a kit (PKG0026) that includes a router table, insert plate, and fence system. At the time of the review the upcoming Freud FT2200 router, which has 3 hp, was expected to be an improved model.
