WHAT'S THIS?

Good for Handheld, Mediocre for In-table Use

The reviewer gave high marks for this router in most of the performance tests where the router was used as a handheld router. The router is good for a handheld, but other routers are better if this tool is to be used extensively in a table. The trigger-style power switch is well-located for handheld use, but more difficult for table use, compared to sliding switches or toggles. The rack-and-pinion depth stop is easy to set, but does not have fine adjustment capability, and the stop rod often moves when zeroing the scale. One low point is that the 1/4-inch collect is not included in the purchase price of this tool. Also, bit-height adjustments under the table are annoyingly slow since there is no course adjustment, and the fine adjustment knob is too close to the body, and an extension knob would cost an extra $25 to overcome this deficiency.

I bought this from amazon for $225 two years ago. It is a good router, but the Milwaukee or Bosch are just as good (I have all three) for a lot less money. (More)
