What, You Don't Have One of These Yet?!! (2008-02-14)
It's been said that no one needs drill bits... they actually need holes! If that is true then it follows that no one needs dull drill bits, since they want to drill the holes they need clean and quick. That's where the Drill Doctor DD750X comes in.
Skepticism is the only reasonable excuse for not owning a Drill Doctor, skepticism that no affordable tool can actually produce factory-sharp drill bits. I'll admit to having doubts as well, but they quickly vanished after using the first bit I sharpened with a Drill Doctor. It was every bit a sharp and performed as well as any brand new bit would. I won't go over the steps for sharpening drill bits here since they are covered quite well in the instructional DVD that comes with the tool. Sharpening bits perfectly literally takes seconds, and once you get through the short learning curve you'll be able tune up your whole drill index (that old index full of dull, worthless bits you were planning on throwing out after Father's Day when someone special bought you a new one :-) Although you'll put out some cash to get into this bit sharpener, it will soon be recovered in savings. With new, quality, drill bits costing easily $2 ~ $6 per bit, payback doesn't take long! And if you can find a source for dull bits someone else has discarded or possibly at a garage sale, your payoff can easily turn to profit. Best of all is the satisfaction of using sharp bits every time: no more spoiled work or frustration producing those holes you need!
