I chose the DeWalt DW745 saw for its compact and functional design and have not been disappointed. This saw has plenty of power for ripping 2x lumber and accuracy for any jobsite cutting operations. The bevel angle adjustment works with a locking lever for quick adjustments, especially when compared to the crank-handle type adjustments on many other portable saws. Depth of cut adjustment is made with a crank handle but is quick enough to make changes for different material thicknesses as needed. I like the rack and pinion adjustment on the rip fence with the exception that sawdust gets into the interlocking slide track for the fence and must be cleared out occasionally to allow free movement of the fence. As might be expected for a small jobsite saw, the miter guide is on the whimpy side but will function OK in a pinch (I guess the folks at DeWalt figure you'll have DeWalt miter box on the job and won't use the guide much anyway). While ripping some manufactured decking the "sawdust" kept plugging up the dust port, but may have worked better with a good shop vac hooked up to it. Otherwise, the enclosed blade with a dust port would be nice to keep sawdust contained. With its light weight and small footprint along with the other features described above, overall I have found this saw to be a great jobsite saw and would readily recommend it to anyone in the market for a saw in its class.
