Consumer Reports testers ranked this as the #2 best portable table saw, which puts it in the "excellent" range. The accuracy and ease of use are excellent, the speed is very good, and the rip precision and edge finish are good. The saw comes with extensions but no cut-line indicator. Rip-fence adjustment is easy and allows for fine adjustments.

The reviewer listed mostly high points for this saw, but also singled out the DeWalt for having a remarkably small cross-cutting capacity of 5 inches, compared to say 13 inches on the Ridgid TS3650 saw. The reason for this lack of capacity on the DeWalt is partly due to a limited amount of tabletop in front of the blade, and partly due to the miter gauge lacks a T-bar that would extend the area by a few more inches. On the other hand, this saw has a rack-and-pinion system with a large knob that makes it easy to rip wider than 13 inches and to make fine adjustments. Also, there is low fence deflection since the fence locks at the front and rear, and there is on-tool storage for wrenches and blades. One of the low points is that the miter gauge doesn't fit well into the miter gauge slot, which makes it more difficult to crosscut pieces wider than about 5 inches. Some other low points are that the stand lacks wheels, the machine cannot be collapsed for storage until the saw is removed, and there are no T-slots for attaching accessories.
