 Outstanding Kit - If You Are Only Going to Have One Router, This Is It. (2007-02-10)
I got this kit after borrowing a friends router, which terrified me it vibrated and whined so much.
The router itself runs silky smooth and quiet. With a very nice soft-start. Very easy to change bits with clear access with any of the bases installed.
The bases all work well and change very quickly. I find myself using the D handle base the most because of the power in the switch and the solid grip you can get with it.
I purchased a Rockler router table and got an extra base to keep mounted to the table ready to go. In retrospect I probably didn't need the extra base since I mostly use the D base, but the fixed base is nice and compact so it comes in handy fairly often.
The weakest base is the plunge base. It works fine, but is a bit finiky to adjust. Not bad, but not up to snuff with the rest of the kit.
This kit is really a good combo. I don't think you can go wrong with it.
