Consumer Reports testers ranked this as the 3rd best corded model circular saw, with an evaluation score that puts it in the "excellent" range. The cutting speed, power, and construction are excellent, and the ease of use is very good. The maximum cutting depth is 2 3/8 inches.

I purchased this today for $140 @ Home Depot. Got it home, opened it up (they didnt have one on display at the store) and was totally shocked at the cheap Chinese "PLASTIC' baseplate. This wasnt even good plastic, but the kind you find on a childs cheap plastic toy. Needless to say, it went right back to the store for a refund. DeWalt circular saws are now on my S list. I cant even comprehend a company like DeWalt putting out such a shoddy product. This saw would self destruct on the jobsite in short order. Might as well buy a $29.95 B&D circular saw. It couldnt be any worse than this piece of junk
