Consumer Reports testers ranked this as the 6th best cordless impact driver, with an evaluation score that puts it in the "very good" range. The power is excellent, the speed, charge time, and handling are very good, the run time is fair, but the noise level (at the user's ear) is poor. The tool weight is 4.2 pounds, the battery pack has 14.4 volts, the battery type is NiCd, the battery recharge time is 60 minutes, and there is one speed range.

I can't say enough about this tool...it will drive any size screw into any material with little or no problem. No need for the 18V ( which I had before it was stolen) this 14V does everything the 18V did. If you have never owned an impact driver you will need a little practice getting used to the feel of driving instead of screwing fasteners...but once you have the hang of it you'll never go back to the old way. I have had my Dewalt for over a year and no problems whatsoever....I do carpentry for a living and would highly reccomend this tool.
