FWW's Favorite 14-in. Bandsaw
Fine Woodworking Magazine, Volume 153, 2001-01

by Researchgirl

If price is not an object for you, this is the bandsaw to have in your shop. At 10,000 psi, its blade tension was a bit below average, but overall, the quality of the machine and its performance is excellent. The Delta is the only 14-in. bandsaw tested by FWW to be made in the U.S. It has a very flat table, has the biggest and only cast-iron trunnion of its class. FWW liked the micro-adjust system to move the sleeve, and this machine's fence was their favorite to work with. It has nine spokes on its wheels, the most of the tested machines. It has the fastest feed rate at 30 inches per minute and overall the beefiest parts. The machine cuts well and it tended to stall or bog down less than other machines.
