WHAT'S THIS?

Nice Features But Several Inaccurate Components

The reviewer listed as many low points as high points for this saw. On the positive side, the saw has a bevel scale and cursor on each side of the head, which means one of the scales is always in view. Also, this was the only saw tested that had a handle that could rotate from a horizontal grip to a pistol grip. Other pluses are the extension wings that add 20 inches to both sides of the table, and the cutoff stop and hold-down clamp work on the extension wings. On the negative side, angles beyond 45 degrees on the bevel stop system require that the stop must be reset and recalibrated. Worse, the 45-degree miter stops were inaccurate even after calibration. Also, the fence was not square to the table, and the laser shines too far (1/8 inch) from the cutline, which partly negates the laser's inherent accuracy.
