WHAT'S THIS?

Excellent Power and Safety Mechanisms

The reviewer cited nearly all high points for this bandsaw. The power is excellent, and the saw can make an 18-inch long cut in a 10-inch wide red oak in 30 seconds without any slowing or stalling. The safety features are also outstanding, such as automatic prevention of motor startup if either wheel cover is open, and it was the only saw tested that had a magnetic switch. Two more high points are that the blade tension scale has intuitive marking of widths, and the quick-release tensioner is smooth and reliable. The only low point is that a hex wrench is required for most blade-guide adjustments. Caveat: This bandsaw requires 200-volt service, which is not always readily available in shops.
