Twice the Torque of Similar Palm Drivers

The reviewer refers to this Bosch model as "PS-20," which is presumably identical to Bosch model "PS20-2." This palm driver is about the same size as the Black & Decker Li300 and the Skil 2336-01 palm drivers, but it is significantly more powerful. The torque is twice the torque of those other two models, for example. This model also has two battery packs (10.8 volts apiece), a clutch with 11 settings, a quick-connect hex chuck, and a trigger-activated light. Two hex drive bits are included. This driver can drive 1/4" twist bits into pine and ash without trouble, or drive 1" spade bits into hard maple. The motor is variable speed and the charger takes 30 minutes.

I own the PS10, PS20, PS30 and PS40, so I like these little tools. The ps30 is "12 volt" while the others are 10.8. I was relunctant to buy the 12 volt because it did not fit the set but some of the discussion was that Bosch made a marketing decision and renamed the product to better compete while making no changes to the battery or the tools. That is in fact the case. Put a multimeter on the 10.8 or the 12 and you will read 12.24 volts. Ether one works in the tools and the charger - the only difference is the label on the battery.
The PS20 is a good medium duty tool that is light weight and small enough to go where full size tools can not. It is my go to tool for routine hosehold maintence.
