The reviewer listed mostly high points for this saw, and rated it as tied it with the DeWalt DW715 for the mitersaw Top Tool honor. This saw has detent override, which allows the user to position the saw near the miter stops without slipping into them. The miter stops at 45 degrees are extremely accurate, and don't require any initial adjustment. The vernier scale allows to user to make the a miter position accurate to within 1/4th of a degree. One plus for safety is that there are two safety switches so that left-handed users can reach the stop switch as automatically as right-handed users. Some low points are that the bevel stop system does not allow angles larger than 45 degrees unles the stop is reset and recalibrated, and miter adjustments were a little stiff. Although the hold-down clamp has a quick-release lever, it can get in the way at times.

5 out of 5 Very Delighted Purchase! (2008-03-31)

I bought this saw as a Christmas gift to myself :D Ha! Ha! And at the time got a free digital protractor . . . that was half the reason for buying it. Buy a tool get a free one = good deal to me :D However since having the saw for a few years, I love it! After using a buddy of mine's DeWalt to put in some trim . . . well lets just say I brought my Bosch for the second nights work. Even convinced a neighbor of his to buy a Bosch. I like the raised castings for the angle, instead of a printed number that can be rubbed off. I like the positive stop mechanism, the right or left hand use, and the fact that the casting in the bottom can be used for handles or to fit over a 2x4 when used on a jobsite.

2 out of 5 Bosch 3912 (2008-06-01)

I have owned and have regularly used this saw for over three years. As others have pointed out it is almost impossible to get 100 percent accurate cuts from this saw. Tightening the lock down knob... (More)

4 out of 5 Bosch 3912 Compound Miter Saw (2008-06-01)

The saw seems to be of rugged construction and needed only slight adjustments. My first test cuts were very disappointing using the blade supplied. After borrowing a much better blade from a friend... (More)

4 out of 5 Bosch 3912 (2008-01-05)

Well made - like better than Dewalt or Makita. Plenty of power. Easy to set up - made no adjustments. Love the right or left handed operation - old school. No laser but I'm old and doing workwork... (More)
