Excellent In Switch Placement and Ease of Base Change

The reviewer rated this as Top Tool among the routers tested. The plunge and fixed bases can be quickly adjusted for large changes of depth, but can also be microadjusted for miniscule changes of depth. The on-off switch is always near the handles, even when the depth-of-cut is changed. This one attribute is the main reason this router was named Top Tool, since accidents can happen when one hand is removed from a router to hit the on-off switch. The router has low vibration and collet runout. The base changes were the fastest and easiest of any router tested, except for the Porter-Cable 895PK, which tied with this model in that respect. Although the storage case is ruggedly made, it can't store optional equipment like the dust-collection accessory or edge guide. The tool kit comes with a toolless quick-change adapter that fits Porter-Cable style guide bushings. The only real low point with this model is that dust collection is optional for either base.

Very happy with this router works beautifully. Only comment is the way the case is designed it has already marred the wooden handles. No big deal just a shame. (More)
