I love it (01-20-2011)
This is a keeper. I have ran multiple Boschs over the years of being in the trades, this is a favorite. I do NOT loan this to other guys on my crew. Barrel handle fits my hand intuitively. You will be very happy with buying this jigsaw!
Finally A Jigsaw That Works !! (02-25-2010)
Let me start off by saying "I Hate Jigsaws".
I have owned no less than 8 jigsaws from different manufacturers and several different models from them. I shuddered everytime I needed to use one.
They all seemed to suffer from blade wobble, bent blades and crappy tracking of a cut line.
The last Skil I threw in the dumpster and the DeWalt made me so crazy I smashed it to smithereens with my hammer. Total waste of money, but sure made me feel good.
Unfortunately, the the time came that I needed another jigsaw. After much investigating, I decided to give it one last shot, and purchased the Bosch.
This jigsaw is worth twice the price. It is fabulous. No blade wobble, no bent blades and terrific tracking of a cut line. There is nothing this tool cant do. It does get a little warm holding the motor, but a pair of Makita gloves, solves that problem. They are lightweight and dont restrict your movement.
The Bosch changed my mind about jigsaws (12-13-2009)
I've had and used many jigsaws over the past 30+ years and never really liked any of them. I generally avoided using a jigsaw, when I could, and viewed them as a necessary evil. My old jigsaw died, so I bought a cheap PC to replace it. It's a nice saw, with decent performance and some good features, like the LED worklight, but it didn't change my opinion of jigsaws. I'm in the beginning stages of an extensive demolition and reconstruction project and time is precious. I needed a good jigsaw, to cut down on as much work after the cut, as possible. The PC wasn't working well for me on difficult cuts.
So, I read a lot of reviews and decided to buy the Bosch. I immediately put it to work on those difficult cuts and I was astonished. The handling and power are like no other jigsaw that I've ever used. Using the barrel grip is comfortable and much better for control, at least for me.
In short, I no longer dread needing a jigsaw to make a cut. This tool is a real joy to use. My only negatives are very minor. I'd like to be able to use Universal shank blades as well as T shank. Bosch makes/sells Universal blades, so I don't understand why this tool won't accept them. I'd also like to have an LED worklight on the tool. I have several other tools that have this feature, like the PC jigsaw, and it's nice to have. I don't recall ever complaining about having too much light on a cut that I was trying to make.

I've got a lot of Bosch tools and this is one of the best.
This tool has mowed through everything I've put a blade to and, it does it effortlessly and produces clean accurate cuts. I'm so pleased with this tool because I know if I need to use it I'm going to get clean cuts in a short period of time.
I love the barrel grip and can't figure out what every jigsaw isn't like this. So easy to use in hard to reach areas.
I love the Bosch blade system as well. I'm used to older tools that require a lot of work for blade changes.
Nothing bad to say about this tool. Even though it has some "gimmicky" features, they all either work and are nice additions or do not interfere with use.
I'm embarrased to say that the first time I used it, I did yip with glee when I saw the clean hole I'd cut in such a short period of time.
Cutting's a breeze
I love amazon.com and I love this jig saw. Very easy to use, long cable, and it's worked well on several projects thus far. I highly recommend this Bosch and look forward to trying out more of their power tools.
