Mon, 24 Mar 2008 06:39:56 GMT - Thomas Moser Opens LA Showroom

Earliers this month, Scott Daniel, one of the Toolcritic founders, attended the Thomas Moser Showroom Opening Event in Los Angeles with two of his friends. The event had more of the flavor of a major art happening than the opening of a furniture store with hundreds of people sitting patiently through several hours of talks on craft and furniture. Check out some of the pictures and find out more about what happened at the event here at the Toolcritic site.

Thu, 13 Sep 2007 19:40:04 GMT - Toolcritic is moving to new servers!

To continue to provide our rapidly expanding base of users with a snappy Toolcritic.com experience we have been forced to migrate our system to some new, faster, servers.

During this transition you will not be able to sign-in, sign-up or create new reviews. However you can still browse existing reviews and read all of our articles.

We expect the transition will only last a couple of days (if everything goes smoothly).

Please bear with us during this transition.

Wed, 18 Jul 2007 11:47:52 GMT - 14.4v & 18v Battery Recall

There is a recall on Milwaukee and Milwaukee OEM batteries that can explode if damaged.

Milwaukee Power Plus, Chicago Pneumatic, and Extractor 14.4 and 18
volt 2.4 Ah NiCd battery packs manufactured between July 1999 and February 2004.

www.milwaukeetool.com to find out the details on the recall. If your battery is affected they will send you a prepaid FedEx label to send you battery in for replacement.

We've already made the call for our affected batteries. Don't mess around, check out your batteries to see if they are part of the recall.

Mon, 18 Jun 2007 14:33:50 GMT - New look and rankings coming soon!

We have been working hard to bring some exciting new information and rankings to our product pages.

Along with the new information we have reorganized our pages to make them simpler to read and now have links to Shopping.com if they offer the tool in addition to Amazon.com.

Stay tuned for more!

Mon, 09 Apr 2007 00:51:39 GMT - Review Tools, Get Free Stuff!

For a limited time, we're giving away a valuable, probably collectable, Toolcritic.com t-shirt to each user who writes at least five (yes, only five) reviews. Get down to your shop with a pad and pencil and write down the brands and model numbers of your tools, sign-up, and write those reviews (check the fine print for rules).

They need to be reviews that are rich with your experiences using the tools. Reviews are your opportunity to let other folks know about your experience with your tools. You may save someone from a terrible mistake or let them experience the joy you've had with a particular tool.
