12-16" Cabinet Table Saws
|
12-16" Cabinet Table Saws 10" blade table saws expose just a little over 3" of their blade for cutting. Going to a 12", 14", or 16" table saw provides 1-3 additional cutting inches above the table.
The saws with larger blades also tend to be more powerful so that they can get through the thicker materials.
Small shops tend to switch to a bandsaw when they encounter a work piece thicker than 3", but there are applications where a larger saw blade is worth the additional money. Remember that it's not just the cost of the saw that goes up when you get above 10" blades; the blades themselves become much more expensive. Glossary: Table Saw
